Common Buyer Questions

When should we specify nickel alloys over stainless?

Nickel alloys outperform stainless in H₂S, chloride, and high-temperature environments. Inconel 625 and Hastelloy C-276 are preferred for deepwater and extreme sour wells.

What's the typical lead time for Inconel 625?

Standard tube sizes: 4–6 weeks. Bar stock: 6–8 weeks. For emergency needs, we can leverage secondary market sources with small premiums.

Do you machine nickel alloys?

Yes. Nickel alloys are work-hardening, so specialized tooling is required. We have dedicated capacity for threading and custom tool joints. Lead time adds 2–3 weeks.

Are nickel alloys sour-service certified?

Yes. Inconel 625 and Hastelloy C-276 are both NACE MR-0175 and ISO 15156 compliant. We provide certifications with every shipment.

What about material cost risk?

Nickel is a commodity—prices fluctuate. We can lock pricing for 30–60 day periods depending on quantity.

Can you help with material selection for my well?

Absolutely. Contact our technical team with well data (H₂S concentration, temperature, chlorides, CO₂).
